A Good Day's Rest

From yesterday...

Goodbye beautiful-view-of-Portland-on-the-20th-Floor Condo. We will miss you!

And today...

The Pri is ready to go! She knows where her heart belongs.

...delayed.

After pulling an all-nighter (finishing up misc. moving stuff), not to mention less than great driving conditions in Southern Oregon and Northern California... we have decided to have a day of rest before taking to the road. We will be leaving early Thursday morning. We will catch up to our regular itinerary by cutting our stay short in Los Angeles.

If someone talks to Jim Pharris, will you tell him he owes me a dollar? :)

The Master Plan

Wednesday, Jan 30th:
Leaving 8:00 am. Stopping to see my grandparents in Roseburg, and stopping to see my other grandma in Canyonville. We will drive 7 or 8 hours total today and spend the night in Northern CA. We will be staying with some old friends in my hometown-Fieldbrook, CA.

Thursday, Jan 31st:
Leaving in the morning for San Francisco. We will spend the afternoon and evening exploring San Fran, and will stay the night there as well.

Friday, Feb 1st:
Leaving 8 or 9, Driving to Los Angeles to visit one of Simo’s good friends. We will get into LA in the evening. And will be staying at Jimmy's place (Simo’s friend).

Monday, Feb. 4th:
Leaving LA 10 am or so (to avoid early morning rush hour). Driving to Las Vegas (neither of us has been there). We will spend the afternoon and evening exploring Las Vegas. Staying the night in Vegas at the MGM Grand hotel.

Tuesday, Feb 5th:
Leaving early morning Stopping at Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon (dependent on weather), and Grand Canyon Caverns (if time permits). Driving to Holbrook, AZ for the night to stay in a retro “Wigwam” motel.

Wednesday, Feb 6th:
Leaving early for a long day of driving across New Mexico. No scheduled touristy stops… just anything that catches our eye. Staying the night in Amarillo, TX.

Thursday, Feb 7th:
Leave 8 am, Driving through Texas and Oklahoma and plan to make it to Fort Smith, Arkansas for the night

Friday, Feb 8th:
Today we have a short drive to Memphis, TN. We will spend the afternoon and evening exploring Memphis. Maybe we'll go see Graceland :)

Saturday, Feb 9th:
Driving through Nashville for lunch and we will end our day in Knoxville, TN. Stopping at any touristy stuff along the way.

Sunday Feb. 10th:
We will start heading north towards Washington, D.C. but will come up short of actually making it there. We plan to stay about 2 hours outside of DC and find a hotel to stay in for the night. Somewhere around Harrisonburg, VA.

Monday, Feb. 11th:
We will leave pretty early so that we arrive in DC at a decent time but avoid rush hour. We will spend all day exploring the city and seeing the sights. We will spend the night in DC as well.

Tuesday, Feb 12th:
Simo has requested that we leave at precisely the right time in the morning so that we are in Philadelphia for lunch (He wants a REAL Philly Cheese steak) and then we will continue on to NY where we will arrive at Simo's parents house in the evening.
