San Francisco and Los Angeles

We woke up Saturday morning and explored San Francisco a little more. We drove down the famous crooked street (Lombard Street) and found a good look out to take some pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. San Fran wasn't what Simo and I were expecting... but it was fun, all the same.

San Francisco

On our way from San Francisco to Los Angeles

We arrived in Los Angeles at 3:00pm. Jimmy showed us around the local area... Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Later in the night we went to the Chinese Theater to watch Cloverfield (I fell asleep though- I was so tired) and we also walked a small part of Broadway and looked at the stars on the sidewalk.

Today we are going to watch the superbowl at Jimmy's place and then explore some of the richer neighborhoods of LA.
Oh, and Simo finally got to try In 'N Out last night.. not surprisingly, he loved it!

You, Me & The Pri!

The Pri is doing well. With all our suitcases riding up top in the rocketbox, our gas mileage is suffering. Right now we are averaging just under 35 mpg. I guess it could be worse....

We saw an abundance of Prius' in Grants Pass, OR. Here in San Francisco we have seen a handful as well, even a Prius taxi!

The Pri drove through 2 redwood trees today!

Unfortunately, we only have video- no pictures. If I have time in the next few days, I'll try to get the videos uploaded on here.

It was a sad sight today at Trees of Mystery.

Babe the Blue Ox has lost his head!

It was pretty traumatizing... but as Simo pointed out, he may be decapitated, but at least he hasn't been castrated.

Day One and Day Two

Day One- We left before 7am from Estacada, OR and ended our day in Fieldbrook, CA. Along the way made a handful of stops in Myrtle Creek and Canyonville, Oregon, as well as Crescent City, California.

Day Two- Today we got a later start, and arrived in San Francisco around 5:30 pm. Along the way we enjoyed The Avenue of the Giants scenic drive, lots of beautiful wine country, a Bigfoot souvenier shop, the Golden Gate Bridge, and downtown San Francisco.
My niece, Hayven, graciously gave Simo her puppy when we left on Thursday morning. The puppy, Flowers (Hayven picks great names ;) ), is now our official roadtrip mascot.

What do you mean I have to pump my own gas?!

Goodnight San Francisco!
We will be waking early tomorrow to drive to Los Angeles. No scheduled stops along the way... maybe at In 'N Out....Simo is dying to try it.
